So a few weeks ago I ended up back in Maudsley Hospital for 10 days…I can’t lie, this time around everything just felt annoyingly coincidental…
I’d literally just uploaded the blurb vlog about the series I’m working on about invisible illnesses and women of colour…
Soon after that I released the Biopic Short film I’d finally finished after a whole year of editing; which depicted my identity crisis growing up as a young female creative of colour in the UK. It featured real life scenes and voice overs moments before my breakdown at Uni and my time in Maudsley Hospital…

This vlog is a new series coming soon, which attempts to diversify the narratives about mental health issues for women of colour .
Obviously you can trust me to ramble on and on even in an edited version which has been cut down to 15 minutes !
Hence the need to express my thoughts and views in a more creative and beautifully structured manner via the series.

So I submitted some Prose poetry for SOAR, which is forHarriet’s literature submission section for short stories and poems.
This peice is called “Michael: Might Be, My Cool” an excerpt from a short fictional novel I’m working on called “Blacks, Browns, Coloureds & Crayolas.” touching on topics like intersectionality, race, class and gender and this particular piece is about a tiring cat & mouse relationship between two young adults who struggle to communicate their true feelings to each other.

Dr. Dre Beats X Selfridges ‘Denim By Denim’ July 2013
Beats by Dr. Dre introduced a blogger style challenge to celebrate the launch of their limited edition Studio headphones for the‘Selfridges ‘Denim Lovers’ collection. We shot this in Brixton, photographed by Jendella Benson and styled by Sandra Falase and modelled by myself. And we won the challenge and the Beats headphones and BeatsPill collection.
